Friday, July 1, 2022 – 1 pm – 10 pm |  Saturday, July 2, 2022 – 10 am – 10 pm |  Sunday, July 3, 2022 – 10 am – 3 pm
Locations: Roswell Convention Center, Pioneer Plaza and Downtown Roswell.

Note: The UFO Festival and its associated activities are rain or shine events. No refunds will be given for inclement weather.

   

Galaxy Fair – Free Event

Join us at the Roswell Convention Center for live music, a fire show, a light show, a beer garden, children’s entertainment,  educational speakers, art, circus camp, bounce house and Knockerball Soccer, giant darts, The Foam Zone, rock painting, cowboy roping selfie station, astronaut camp, Mario Kart Balloon Grab, Glow Bicycle Ride, a Bike Safety Education Event and much more throughout the weekend. There is no charge for the activities taking place in the parking lot or the Kids Zone inside the Convention Center. There will be lots of vendors and fun for the whole family!

Fire and Drone Light Show: Starts at 8:30 

Galaxy Cantina:
Come sample beer and wine from local New Mexico breweries and wineries while you enjoy the live music. There will be plenty of food vendors to choose from! Sunday we will have a DJ and Open Mic for local artists who want to come and show off their talent. If you are interested in signing up for a spot on the stage, please contact us at 575-637-6239.

Kids Zone:
Get out of the heat and come on inside the Convention Center for activities geared for kids including crafts, art contest, Story Time by “UFO Grandpa”  Frank X Blazquez Tekpatzin, gaming booths, and more.

Main Concert Event – Midland

Join us for the main event at DeBremond Stadium on Saturday with Academy of Country Music Award winner, MIDLAND. Texas Country chart topper William Clark Green and former American Idol Contestant Laci Kaye Booth. All ages welcome, rain or shine event.

Allowed on concert grounds: Lawn chairs, blankets, small clear bags.
Prohibited items: Coolers, outside alcohol, drugs and/or paraphernalia, weapons, fireworks/explosives, backpacks, bags, purses, or professional cameras/video equipment. Other items may be prohibited at the discretion of event staff. Small clear bags will be permitted, and a limited number of clear bags will be available at the gate for those who don’t have one.

General Admission $15. VIP $100. Doors will open 5 p.m. July 2.

Update: Registration has closed for Alien Chase due to overwhelming demand. Thank you to everybody who has signed up; we can’t wait to see you!
To keep the fun going, we have created a second event called Alien Chase After Thought. Whoever signs up for the After Thought event will race alongside all other Alien Chase participants, but be issued a standard bib and receive their T-shirt and finishing medal in the mail following the race. Please be patient, as materials may take 8-10 weeks to arrive.

Costumes are encouraged on this walk/run along the history Spring River Trail, with DeBremond Stadium serving as the start and finish line. All participants will receive a participation medal and T-shirt. The top three finishers in each age group (12-under, 13-17, 18-54, 55+) will receive special medals, and the overall top finisher (male and female) will receive a plaque.
Advance entrant packets will be available June 27-30 at the Roswell Adult Center (807 N. Missouri) or July 1 at the UFO Festival registration desk located in the Roswell Convention and Civic Center parking lot.

UFO Festival Laser Shows and Sci-Fi Movies in the Robert H. Goddard Planetarium

Friday, July 1 – Sunday, July 3
Join us during the UFO Festival in the Goddard Planetarium at the Roswell Museum (1011 N. Richardson Ave) as we combine legendary music with laser light visuals. Enjoy music hits from Queen, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and more, all under the Planetarium’s 40-foot dome. New this year, relax and take in a retro sci-fi movie projected on the dome at 1 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Courthouse Lawn Events

MainStreet Roswell will be hosting vendors, street entertainers, DJ and live music on the Chaves County Courthouse lawn as an added attraction during UFO Festival put on by the City of Roswell. The Downtown Events are free to attend. There will be music from Noon until 10PM on Friday, July 1 and 10AM to 10PM on Saturday, July 2, and 10AM until 3PM on Sunday.

Costume Contest

MSR welcomes you use your creativity and dress up, with a great background story to tell to enter the Alien Costume Contest on Friday evening at 8PM, this is a family friendly and FUN event to watch. 1st through 3rd place in adults as well for kids 17 and under will be awarded.

Pet Costume Contest

On Saturday morning at 9AM bring your pets out to compete in the Pet Costume Contest, we welcome leashed/caged animals of any kind. Don’t have a pet that will let you dress it up? Come out to watch and cheer on your favorite non-human contestant.

Passport Program

MainStreet Roswell invites visitors and residents to visit downtown Roswell merchants to see all of their wonderfully unique items for sale. When you arrive at the UFO Festival, stop by the Chaves County Courthouse to pick up your free Roswell Passport. As you visit participating local merchants, you will get stamps for your passport. No purchase is necessary, but some merchants will offer discounts for passport holders.

Once you have acquired the specified number of stamps, return your passport to the MainStreet Roswell tent for a swag bag. One passport per person, open to 18 and older.

Morning Hike Event at Bottomless Lakes State Park

On Sunday morning, join us for a guided morning hike that finishes with a light breakfast. Tickets are $35 per person.

Notice: Participants in events at Bottomless Lakes State Park acknowledge inherent risks in outdoor activities, including but not limited to snakes and other wildlife, uneven terrain and large bodies of water.

Alien Crawl

Take a tour around Roswell in the Alien Crawl party bus and experience some of Roswell’s finest restaurants, such as The Black Cock Brewery, Farley’s, Peppers Bar & Grill, Pasta Cafe, Pecos Flavors Winery & Bistro, and Antiguas Cocina Mexicana for samples of alien themed beverages and appetizers. Choose from two separate tours that visit three of these establishments for an unforgettable local experience. The tour begins at the Alien Crawl bus stop on Main and 9th St. at the Roswell Convention Center and ends at the Galaxy Cantina, also at the Convention Center. 

Awesome Alien Crawl includes a visit to Pasta Cafe, Peppers Bar and Grill, and Antigua’s Cocina Mexicana and leaves you at the Galaxy Cantina Beer Garden at the Convention Center.

Bad Alien Crawl takes you to visit to Farley’s, Black Cock Brewery and Pecos Flavors Winery & Bistro and leaves you at the Galaxy Cantina Beer Garden at the Convention Center.
The early crawls will leave the Convention Center at 10 a.m. and head back at 2 p.m.
The late crawls will leave the Convention Center at 3 p.m. and head back at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $50.00 per person, 21 and over only. Ticket sales end 11:59 p.m. June 28.

1947 – Re-enactment Tour – Sorry Sold Out!

Join us for a special tour that begins at the Roswell Daily Record where the news release about the UFO crash was published, then off to the Roswell Little Theatre for a reenactment show .  The tour will also take you to the Walker Aviation Museum. This will be a free event at 1:00 p.m. each day. (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
