Chevel Shepherd announced as headliner for the Main Event concert on Saturday night!
The City of Roswell and their event management company, In Depth Events, has released the name of the headlining act for the 2021 Roswell UFO Festival. New Mexico’s own Chevel Shepherd will grace the stage with her band for the headliner slot of the July 3 concert.
The 18 year old New Mexico native made international headlines by winning The Voice in the 15th annual competition at the young age of 16. Since then, she’s been hard at work touring, recording, and releasing her first album, “Everybody’s Got a Story”. The album’s title song was one of the first releases, and is already getting hundreds of thousands of listens on Spotify and other platforms.
Battle of the Bands announcement
Attendees to the Main Event will also have a chance to hear some brand new talent on the main stage. The Roswell Community Theatre will be hosting a “Battle of the Bands” on Friday, July 2, the evening before the Main Event. The winner of the contest will be featured as the first opening act for the Main Event on July 3.
In addition to the lucky winners of the “Battle of the Bands”, a second opening act called Straight Tequila Night, billed as a “90’s country tribute act”, will have a slot and appearance for the Main Event.
